Suspects lead police on chase after mall break-in

GLEN BURNIE, Md. – According to police, three suspects led police on a car chase after a commercial robbery in Glen Burnie, Maryland. The suspects fled from the Marley Station Mall and traveled southbound on I-295 into Washington, D.C.

According to the Anne Arundel County Police Department, officers responded to reports of an burglary in process at the Sprint Store at the Marley Station Mall. When they arrived, police discovered that the suspects had run out of the loading bay doors and had fled in a light colored vehicle. The police were able to pursue them onto Ritchie Highway towards Route 100.

After an attempted traffic strop, the vehicle was able to continue traveling southbound on I-295. At that time, the United States Park Police and the United States Capitol Police were called to assist the pursuit of the suspects into Washington, D.C. Shortly after entering the District, the vehicle the suspects were in crashed and all three suspects attempted to run from the vehicle. However, all three suspects were eventually taken into custody. One of the suspects was transported to a hospital in Prince George’s County due to injuries sustained. The other two were taken to the Anacostia Police Station.

Officials say that a loaded Glock handgun was recovered from the ground near the car used by the suspects. They also found multiple stolen cell phones.

At this time, the United States Park Police have custody of all three suspects. According to officials, the Anne Arundel County Police Department plans to write arrest warrants for the burglary, theft, and traffic charges.
