Ashburn man arrested for shooting girlfriend

LOUDOUN COUNTY, Va. — An Ashburn man is accused of holding his girlfriend at gunpoint and then shooting her during an argument late Friday.

The incident took place on Olympia Drive in Ashburn. The victim fled after the shooting and was able to contact authorities, at which point she was taken to a local hospital and treated for non-life-threatening injuries.

The suspect, Alejandro Delbrey, 34, was apprehended during a traffic stop later that evening. He was then taken into custody and charged with abduction, malicious wounding, and use of firearm during the commission of a felony.
