LOUDOUN COUNTY, Va. — An elementary school-aged girl was approached Friday by a stranger in an SUV who attempted to abduct her, police say.

Loudoun County Police are investigating this incident, in which the driver reportedly asked the girl several times to get into his car, growing angrier as she refused.

The abduction was apparently thwarted when the girl ran to a nearby adult who was walking her dog, at which point the suspect drove off in his black SUV.

The driver is described possibly as a Middle Eastern man with short or balding dark hair and a beard. The SUV may be a Chevy Suburban or a Yukon XL, with silver rims and Virginia tags.

Anyone with any information regarding this case is asked to contact Detective J. Cichocki at 703-777-0475.
