Park police ask for help in April assault case

GREAT FALLS, Md. — A jogger who was sexually assaulted April 27 on Billy Goat Trail has recently come forward about her attack, and the US Park Police are asking for help to identify the suspect.

The victim was jogging on the trail when she was approached by the suspect, who asked her a question. When she stopped to respond, she became the victim of an assault that only ended when nearby hikers approached and the suspect then fled.

The suspect is described as a white male in his mid-to-late 20s. He is 5’11” or 6’0″, with a medium build, short brown hair and an unshaven appearance.  At the time of the attack, he was wearing a gray sweatshirt and black athletic pants with a white strip down the side.
