Pedestrian injured in hit and run in Northeast D.C.

WASHINGTON, D.C. – A hit and run in Northeast D.C. left one woman critically injured, according to police. The incident occurred in the 1800 block of New York Avenue, Northeast.

Police say that a car struck the female victim shortly before 3:15 a.m. on Monday morning. The driver of the car remained on the scene as police arrived. The woman was transported to hospital and is listed as being in critical condition.

At the time of the accident, police closed all the eastbound lanes on New York Avenue from West Virginia to Bladensburg Road, NE. However, they have since been reopened.
