Arlington police need help identifying sexual assault suspect

ARLINGTON, Va. — The Arlington County Police Department needs help to identify a man who is accused of attempting to sexually assault a 27-year-old woman as she crossed the Key Bridge in the early hours of Sunday morning.

The victim was walking along the Key Bridge when she noticed a man walking toward her. As they passed each other, he seized her from behind and dragged her toward a grassy area by the George Washington Memorial Parkway. She was able to fight off the suspect, who then fled the area on foot.

The man is described as a fair-skinned white male in his late 20s to early 30s, from 5’8″ to 5’10” and of medium build, clean-shaven with dirty blonde hair. He was wearing a dark t-shirt and either tan pants or shorts. He was last seen when he fled the scene of the attempted assault.

Detectives from the Special Victims Unit are looking to bring this suspect in for questioning.
