Suspect sought in Northeast DC sexual assault and kidnapping

WASHINGTON, DC – The Metropolitan Police Department is seeking the public’s assistance in identifying and locating a suspect in connection with a sexual assault and kidnapping that occurred in Northeast DC.

Officials say the victim was approached by an armed suspect in the 1800 block of M Street at approximately 4:44 a.m. on July 18. The suspect then kidnapped the victim, forcing her into a vehicle. The suspect drove the victim to a parking lot in the 2400 block of East Capitol Street, where he sexually assaulted her.

The suspect is described as a black male, 39-40-years-old, dark complexion, short dreads, 250-300 pounds, 5’10”, “sleeve” tattoo on his left arm, wearing a white t-shirt, blue shorts, and black, white and yellow sneakers. The suspect was last seen driving a navy blue four-door vehicle, with a gray cloth interior and no tint.

Anyone who has information regarding this case should call police at 202-727-9099.  Additionally, information may be submitted to the TEXT TIP LINE by text messaging 50411.  DC Crime Solvers currently offers a reward of up to $1,000 to anyone who provides information that leads to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for an assault committed in the District of Columbia.
