Fairfax Co. police investigate house shootings
FAIRFAX CO. (Sully Police District) – Officials are investigating three incidents of gunshots being fired at two homes in the Clifton area.
On Tuesday, July 19 police responded to a home in the 11900 block of Henderson Court, in Clifton, for a report of gunshots fired at home the previous day. The victim, a 55-year-old man, reported that someone fired about six shots at his home around 2 p.m. and struck the garage. A white sedan was seen leaving the area around the time of the incident.
The victim also reported that a similar incident occurred days before, on Friday, July 15 around 6 p.m., but did not contact the police. The victim and family members were home at the time of both incidents, but no one was hurt.
In the third incident, police were called for a report of a suspicious event at a home in the 12000 block of Yates Ford Drive, in Fairfax Station, on Wednesday, July 20. An investigation determined on Saturday, July 16 between 2 and 3 a.m., someone fired several rounds at the home and struck its side and the garage and damaged two windows. A dark-colored SUV was seen in the area around the same time. The victim, a 56-year-old man and family members were home at the time of this incident, but non were injured.
Detectives are trying to determine whether these incidents are related, but do not believe they randomly occurred.
