Police investigate fatal bicycle collision in Md.

ASPEN HILL, MD – The Montgomery County Police Department is investigating a fatal bicycle collision which occurred on Sunday on Veirs Mill Road at Turkey Branch Parkway in Aspen Hill, Maryland.

The incident occurred on Sunday afternoon around 1:21 p.m. According to officials, a bicyclist was attempting to cross Veirs Mill Road at Turkey Branch Parkway, heading north, when a 2003 Honda Accord that was traveling eastbound on Veirs Mill Road collided with the bicycle.

The bicyclist, later identified as Oscar Mauricio Gutierrez Osorio, 31, was transported to a local hospital where he later died. The driver of the Honda Accord, Williams Alfo Cordova Siguenza, 42, was also transported to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

This collision remains under investigation. Anyone with information regarding this collision is asked to contact the Collision Reconstruction Unit at 240-773-6620.
