Police seek suspect in Northeast homicide

WASHINGTON, DC – Metropolitan Police are investigating a fatal Northeast shooting that occurred Saturday morning.

Police were called to the 200 block of 50th Street, Northeast at approximately 5:20 a.m. to respond to reports of gun shots. Police say that upon arrival to the scene they found a male victim suffering from a gunshot wound.  He was pronounced dead at the scene.

The victim has been identified as 35-year-old John Williams III of Northeast, DC.

The Metropolitan Police Department currently offers a reward of up to $25,000 to anyone that provides information which leads to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for any homicide committed in the District of Columbia.  Anyone with information about this case is asked to call the police at (202) 727-9099.  Additionally, anonymous information may be submitted to the department’s TEXT TIP LINE by text messaging 50411.
