Fairfax County Public School employee arrested for embezzlement

FAIRFAX CO. (Mason Police District), VA – A Fairfax County Public School employee has been arrested for embezzling money from student lunch accounts.

Fadwa Sarsaur, 51, of Alexandria has been charged with three counts of embezzlement  for taking money from student lunch accounts at Bailey’s Elementary School for the Arts and Sciences . An investigation began on June 16 after a member of management in food services discovered discrepancies in accounting records and reported it to police.

Police say the investigation revealed that the suspect took a large sum of money from several different lunch accounts over a period of three years.

Sarsaur turned herself in at the Fairfax County Adult Detention Center on Friday.
