Car crash in Va. kills six

CAROLINE COUNTY,VA – Six people are dead after a two vehicle crash that occurred early Saturday morning, police say.

The crash occurred on Interstate 95 north bound at the 112.4 mile marker around 12:30 a.m. According to officials, a 1998 Dodge van was traveling north on I-95 when it ran off the road and struck a 2016 Camry in the right lane. After the impact, the Toyota spun out in the road while the Dodge van over-corrected and overturned approximately five to six times. Six passengers in the van were ejected.

Police say the driver of the 1998 Dodge van and nine other passengers were transported to Mary Washington Hospital and Spotsylvania Regional Hospital with serious injuries. The driver of the 2016 Toyota was not injured. The six passengers that were ejected included four males, one female, and one juvenile. All of the ejected passengers died at the scene. The van had a total of 16 occupants.

According to officials, none of the occupants were wearing seat belts.
