School Resource Officer assists with arrest of homicide suspect

PRINCE GEORGE’S COUNTY, Md — Corporal Myron Young, a School Resource Officer, was in his police car when he spotted Jamual Toye, 21, walking to a shopping center around 8 a.m.  Young called for back up and kept an eye on Toye.  Later, Toye got on a Metrobus.  Young and other officers followed the bus, and then pulled it over.  Two officers boarded the bus, including Young.  When approached, Toye threw a drink at Young and jumped off the bus.  Toye was taken into custody at in the 3400 block of Brinkley Road, after a short foot pursuit.  During the pursuit, Toye tossed a gun before being taken into custody.

Toye, of Silver Hill Court in Forestville, is charged with first and second degree murder for a recent homicide in Temple Hills for, according to police, what appears to be a drug related robbery.  He is currently being held without bond.
