Fairfax High School student arrested for rape of 12 year old

FAIRFAX, CO – On Friday, June 3, an 18-year-old man was charged for having inappropriate relations with a 12-year-old girl. An investigation determined that on at least two occasions, the suspect allegedly met with the victim and had inappropriate sexual relations with her. The incident was reported to school administrators on May 13; although, neither incident occurred on school grounds.

Following a thorough investigation by Fairfax Police, two warrants were issued charging Juan Orellana Cruz, of Fairfax, with rape of a child less than 13 years old. He was arrested during the day on June 3 at Fairfax High School and transported to the Fairfax County Adult Detention Center. Investigating detectives and the Victim Services Section are working with the victim and family to provide care and assistance.
