WASHINGTON, D.C. – WMATA is putting  slow speed restrictions in place on Orange, Silver, and Blue lines this week in the area of McPherson Square. It will only affect trains going in the direction of New Carrollton and Largo stations. There is no restriction in place on the outbound track in the direction of Vienna, Wiehle, or Franconia.

The speed restriction is going into effect while maintenance work is done to repair the restraining rail. It might cause delays of 15-20 minutes during rush hour for all of the trains on these lines.

The work will last between May 16 through May 20. So, plan your commute accordingly.
