Fallen tree in NW D.C.

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Earlier this afternoon, a large tree uprooted near the intersection of Yuma Street and Reno Road in Northwest D.C., falling over on and crushing a truck. Police suspect that the rain over the past couple of weeks contributed to the incident.

In addition to damaging the car, the fallen tree also affected several power lines in the area. Pepco originally reported that nearly 30 people were without power. However, now they are reporting that nearly 10 residents are affected by this afternoon’s incident. According to Pepco, power should return by 10:00pm tonight.

If you want to see when power should return, you can check Pepco’s website here.
