Cooking with Cold Fronts

We headed over to Bier Baron Tavern to make Bacon Lollipops and Quesadillas from scratch with Cold Fronts before their show at the Black Cat DC. Good thing we had local comedians, Andrew Bucket and David Tveite on hand to try the food and make some drinks for the guys.  Cold Fronts have shared stages with The Cribs, The Vaccines and more, while lead singer Craig Almquist identifies FIDLAR, Wavves, The Orwells, and Mac Demarco as some of his favorite peer musicians. There are elements of those acts in the sound of Forever Whatever, in addition to influence from older bands like The Strokes and Phoenix. Chiming guitars mix with cruising bass lines, drums punch, and Almquist’s vocals clip along joyfully, often hitting falsetto high notes before soaring into power choruses. These guys not only love The Flash and Arrow, but put on a great set every single show. Also, be sure to catch Andrew Bucket’s comedy set every second and fourth Tuesday at Songbird Cafe and David Tveite’s standup every Monday at the Big Hunt at 8 pm.
