Hearse Drivers Fired After Coffee Run

Two Florida hearse drivers have been fired after they stopped at a Dunkin’ Donuts on the way to a funeral….with the flag-draped coffin in the vehicle! According to many news outlets, Rob Carpenter was surprised and outraged when he spotted the hearse in the parking lot with its curtains open and the coffin visible.   Carpenter confronted the driver and sent images to VeteranWarriors, a local veterans group.

In the coffin was the body of 84-year-old Lt. Col. Jesse Coleman, a decorated soldier who served in Korea and Vietnam.  The drivers were supposed to be transporting Coleman from Veterans Funeral Care to his funeral.

The images and videos Carpenter took have gone viral and, according to Daily Mail, the hearse drivers were fired from Veterans Funeral Care in Clearwater.
