Most will remember their iconic TV debut on the Ed Sullivan show; however, anyone from D.C. can tell you their first official concert was here in the Nation’s Capital. To celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Feb 11, 1964 concert a Beatles tribute band took to the stage at 8:31 (the original start time of the ’64 concert). Dressed to impress, Rain played the exact set Lennon, McCartney, Harrison, and Starr did 50 years ago. Following a short intermission, Rain played songs ranging from “Lady Madonna” to “I am the Walrus.” Ending with an emotional rendition of “Hey Jude” in which audience members joined arm and arm. Take a look as DC50 celebrates 50.
