In a tragic accident today in Santa Clarita, CA,  Paul Walker, actor and star of The Fast and The Furious franchise, died with another unidentified victim in a fiery, single-car crash at approximately 3:30 PM Pacific, according to TMZ.

Walker, age 40, was attending a charity event for an organization, Reach Out Worldwide, which has been raising funds to aid those in need after the typhoon that ravaged the Philippines.  He may have been participating in a car show the group was holding Saturday.

Details are still sketchy, but, according to Walker’s representatives, it appears the actor was not the driver of the vehicle, when the car inexplicably lost control, hit a large object on the side of the road and burst into flames.

Early reports stated Walker possibly was giving test drives to friends in his new Porsche GT or as part of the fundraiser.

Walker’s team has been updating fans via his Facebook and Twitter accounts as more details emerge.

Fast and Furious 7 currently is in production.  Walker leaves behind a 15-year old daughter.
