  • Warmer with Rain

    Starting tomorrow temperatures will climb back into the 50s, then 60s by Friday.

  • Coastal storm on its way

    Although the main effects of this storm will be felt along the coast, enough snow will push inland to give the D.C. Metro area around an inch of snow by sunrise. 

  • 60s With Showers

    Daytime high temperatures on Saturday will be well above average. Showers ahead of a slow moving cold front will occur early Saturday as well as Saturday afternoon. Cold/dry air will move in just in time for Christmas Day and stay with us for the remainder of next week.

  • Winter Solstice

    The Sun is now in it’s southern most point as our tilted Earth makes it’s yearly journey. Typically the coldest temperatures lag the Solstice by about 30 days. This is why our coldest temperatures usually arrive during the last 10 days of January. We will slowly warm up through Saturday, before a cold front brings showers and colder temperatures before Christmas Morning.

  • Tracking Rain

    A cold front moving closer from the west will bring rain anytime from very early evening through the early overnight period. 

  • Showers Tonight

    WASHINGTON, D.C. – A few showers will develop late this evening and overnight as a cold front approaches from the west.  The shower chance is only about 30% over any given area. Temperatures will begin to fall tomorrow as colder air moves in just in time for Thanksgiving Day.  Skies will be partly sunny with a high of 47 on Thanksgiving.

  • Warmer temps will give way to showers this weekend

    After a 10 day cold snap we were finally able to warm into the 60s which is now above average for this time of year. A cold front coming through will push us back into the low to mid 50s tomorrow, before another brief flirtation with 60 on Saturday. Showers come late in the day Saturday into Sunday morning along with some colder air for Sunday and Monday.
