Storms persist in the DMV; cooler temps next week

WASHINGTON, DC — There will be more scattered storms around this evening with some heavy downpours. It will stay humid overnight with lows near 70.

We will see occasional showers and storms throughout the weekend. Rain chances are highest on Saturday in the afternoon and evening. Highs will be in the upper 70s and lower 80s.

An area of low pressure will be off the Mid-Atlantic coast on Sunday, and this will wrap showers back into the area. Rain chances will be higher south of D.C. It will be a lot cooler with highs ranging from the mid 60s to around 70.

Due to the high humidity, storms will unleash heavy rainfall. By Sunday evening, some locations may see over 2 or 3 inches of total rainfall.
