UPDATE: 2 dead, several injured in head-on collision in Potomac

MONTGOMERY CO. – Two people are dead and several are injured after a 2-car head on collision in Potomac, Maryland Friday night, police say.

The crash happened at Oak Lawn Drive and Pleasant Gate Lane around 7:55 p.m., officials say.

A 2012 Ford Expedition was traveling westbound on Oaklyn Drive and that a 2015 Mercedes CLA45 AMG was traveling eastbound on Oaklyn Drive. Police say for reasons still under investigation, the two cars collided.

Two rear-seat passengers in the Mercedes suffered life-threatening injuries and were transported to a hospital where they succumbed to their injuries, police say.

Police identified those two passengers as Hersh Bhansaly, 25, of Bethesda and Brian Everett Laurence, 25, of Potomac.

Police say the driver of the Mercedes is being identified as Daniel Alex Epstein, age 25, of West Hollywood, California. He was transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

An adult male front-seat passenger in the Mercedes was transported to a local hospital with non-life- threatening injuries, officials say.

Police identified the driver of the Ford Expedition is being identified as Addison Leigh Poole, age 16, of Derwood. She was transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Two juvenile female passengers in the Ford were transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, police say.
