Arrest made in connection with body found in burnt out car in Germantown, Md.

GERMANTOWN, MD. -- Montgomery County Police have arrested a man in connection with a body found in a burnt out car two weeks ago.

Stephan Leroy H. Lunningham, 29, of Germantown, Md. has charged with the first-degree murder of Angela Fay Thomas, 29, of North Bethesda, Md.

Back on March 14, Thomas' car was found on fire on an access road off the 13700 block of Wisteria Drive in Germantown, Md. When the fire was extinguished, Thomas' body was discovered inside.

Police said the victim and suspect knew each other.

They added that after Lunningham was arrested on March 21, he "admitted to stabbing Thomas after a verbal altercation, and then burning the car containing the victim’s remains."

Lunningham was ordered held without bond at a court hearing on Thursday. His next appearance is scheduled for April 20, 2018.
