Police: Mom catches sexual predator messaging daughter in Anne Arundel Co.

ANNE ARUNDEL CO., Md. - Police say they arrested a man after a parent notified them of a possible solicitation of a minor.

Leon Richard Harrison, 55, of Northeast D.C., was arrested on Wednesday and charged with sexual solicitation of a minor and prostitution.

According to Anne Arundel County Police, on Tuesday, a mother contacted them and said that she found her young daughter communicating with a man through the Facebook Messenger app.

A detective, working in a covert capacity, took on the identity of a young girl and began investigating.

Police say Harrison began communicating with the detective, who he believed was a young girl, and solicited sexual acts in exchange for money.

On Wednesday, at approximately 9:00 p.m., Harrison arrived at a fast food restaurant in the 1100 block of Annapolis Road in Odenton where he arranged to meet the girl.

Child Abuse Detectives were on scene and took him into custody.
