PRINCE WILLIAM CO. – Police arrested a Bristow man Tuesday for allegedly shooting his handgun through the walls of his neighbor’s townhouse while trying to clean the gun.

Officers responded to a townhouse at the 8800 block of Moat Crossing Place in Bristow to investigate a shooting around 12:30 p.m.

Authorities say 69-year-old Paul Eller was arrested and charged with reckless handling of a firearm.  Police say the investigation revealed Eller was cleaning his gun when he accidentally shot ammunition through two unoccupied bedrooms of his neighbor’s townhouse.

No injured were reported. Eller was released on a $2,500 unsecured bond.
