Teen arrested for stabbing family’s dog
PRINCE WILLIAM CO. – A 19-year-old man was arrested and charged for stabbing a family member’s dog multiple times.
Alex Adolpho Mendez of Stafford was arrested and charged with felony animal cruelty Thursday, police say.
Officers responded to the 13300 block of Paramount Lane in Woodbridge to investigate an animal cruelty complaint. The caller reported that a family member stabbed the family’s 10-month old lab mix multiple times and then left the area on foot.
Mendez was located shortly after by police and detained without incident. Following the investigation, Mendez was arrested. He is being held without bond.
The dog was transported to a local animal hospital with serious injuries.
