Dead goose falls from sky and knocks out hunter
EASTON, MD. – An Eastern Shore hunter was knocked out when a dead goose that was shot fell from the sky and landed on him.
Robert Meilhammer, 51, of Crapo, Maryland, was hunting with a group of people Friday evening near the Miles River when they started shooting at a flock of geese in the sky.
One goose fell about 90 feet to the ground and struck Meilhammer, knocking him unconscious and causing head and face injuries.
When he came to, he was able to say who he was but didn’t remember other details.
Maryland Natural Resources Police says Meilhammer suffered a severe head injury.
Meilhammer is now in stable condition at the University of Maryland Shock Trauma Center.
