A cold night on tap
The winter cold has returned, with temperatures in the 30s this afternoon and wind chills in the 20s. The wind will eventually diminish late tonight, but it will be quite cold in the morning. Skies will be clear and temperatures are expected to end up in the teens in most locations, to around 20° in the District.
Tomorrow will offer a blend of sunshine and clouds, with afternoon highs in the upper 30s and low 40s. We’ll have a one day reprieve on Thursday, with afternoon readings in the 50s before the next cold front arrives at night. This will potentially bring another round of snow or mixed precipitation for the Friday morning commute.
Looking ahead to the weekend, Saturday will be dry and chilly. Another storm system could bring a variety of rain and snow to the DMV Sunday into early Monday.
