Z-Burger offering free burgers to furloughed government employees

WASHINGTON, DC – Monday marks day three of the federal government shutdown, leaving furloughed federal employees feeling the brunt.

To help out, local businesses like Z-Burger in Tenleytown are giving away free burgers to anyone with a federal government ID from 11:00am to 4:00pm until the government reopens.

Manager, Rub Nawaz said that federal employees can get any kind of burger they want.

Back in 2013, the Tenelytown Z-Burger gave away $50K worth of free burgers during that year's 16 day government shutdown.

Nawaz said he’s happy to work for a company that gives back, saying, “I think we just help them and they get motivated and we just want to show them we are with you. We care for you.”
