Man convicted of raping woman on the Red Line

ROCKVILLE, MD. -- A Montgomery County jury has convicted a registered sex offender of raping a woman at knifepoint on a Metro Red Line train in 2016.

John Prentice Hicks, 41, was found guilty of first-degree rape, first-degree sex offense, and second-degree assault.

Hicks' sentencing date has not been set, yet, and he will be held without bond until that time.

When he is sentenced, Hicks faces up to two life sentences.
