Police arrest twin brothers in armed robberies of construction workers

WASHINGTON, D.C. – D.C. Police made two arrests in reference to three armed robbery offenses.

18-year-old Tyquise Powell of Southeast D.C. was arrested and charged with two counts of armed robbery in connection to two offenses, according to the Metropolitan Police Department.

The first offense happened on November 27 in the 2800 block of 30th Street, Northeast. Around noon, three suspects approached the victims while they were renovating a residence. One suspect had a handgun and demanded their property. The suspects took their property and fled the scene.

The second offense happened on November 29 in the 3600 block of Camden Street, Southeast around 10:30 a.m. Two suspects approached the victims while they were renovating a residence. One suspect had a handgun and demanded their property. The suspects took their property and fled the sceme.

Police say 18-year-old Tyrese Powell of Southeast D.C. was arrested Friday and charged with armed robbery in reference to an event that occurred December 22 in the 3700 block of Southern Avenue, Southeast. Around 1:30 p.m. three suspects approached the victims while they were renovating a residence. One suspect had a gun and demanded their property. The suspects took their property and fled the scene.
