Police search for missing Prince George’s Co. man in freezing temperatures
PRINCE GEORGE’S CO., Md. – Prince George’s County Police are asking for the public’s help in finding a missing man.
Daniel Dehaven, 65, has been missing since January 2nd. He was last seen at around 11:30 a.m. in the 10900 block of Blatimore Avenue in Beltsville, about a half-mile from his home.
Police say Dehaven suffers from dementia and is non-verbal. He was known to wander the neighborhood recently, but not go far.
Officials say with the current cold temperatures, they have dedicated around-the-clock manpower into their search, including the use of their helicopter, and the assistance of police in nearby jurisdictions.
Dehaven is described as a white man, around 5’9″ and weighs around 175 pounds. Officers say he was last seen on a store’s surveillance video in the 10900 block of Baltimore Avenue.
Police also say they received a tip that a man fitting Dehaven’s description was sighted in downtown Silver Spring. Montgomery County police have been notified.
