Car plows into kielbasa shop in Rockville

ROCKVILLE, Md. -- Christina Ahrenas, owner Kielbasa Factory on Rockville pike, said her shop was full of customers when a car came plowing through the front door, shortly after 12:30 in the afternoon. this not once, but twice.

She said the car backed up, hit a truck in the parking lot, before slamming in to the store front for a second time.

Ahrenas said, “Everybody were panicking. We were running through the other backdoor outside the store. And like you see, everything is destroyed.”

Ahrenas said a couple of people were hit with broken glass and the driver, a woman, she says, was taken away in an ambulance.

Anna Fortney is an employee who was working in the shop at the time of the crash.

She said, “The first one was like holy [expletive), the second, I ran to check for the bodies.”

Fortney said she was ringing up customers at the time of the crash and said she was lucky to get away.

Neither Montgomery County Police nor Fire and EMS were able to provide more information at this time about the crash.
