Fairfax County Police investigate deadly stabbing of Alexandria father

ALEXANDRIA, Va. - Fairfax County Police say they are investigating a deadly stabbing after finding a victim on Friday night.

According to police, officers were on routine patrol around 11:15 p.m. in the 7100 block of Fairchild Drive when they discovered a man in a nearby wooded area.

They identified him as Luis Bonilla, 27, of Convair Drive, which is right across the street.

Police say they attempted to provide first aid, but they were unable to revive him. It was unclear how long he had been there.

His brother, Elmer, says their mother saw Luis Friday afternoon and everything seemed normal.

"There wasn’t anybody that Luis met and they wouldn’t fall in love with him, just very caring, very loving, just a good guy overall, very happy," he says. "There’s just no one that anyone can think of who would want to do something like that to my brother."

Loved ones say Luis had a young son and stepdaughter.

Police scoured the area where they found Luis but say they were unable to locate any suspects, witnesses, or anyone that might have been involved in the incident.
