Actress Rose McGowan turns herself in
LOUDOUN COUNTY, Va. – Authorities from the Metropolitan Airports Authority Department say actress Rose McGowan turned herself in on Tuesday. An arrest warrant was obtained for McGowan for possession of a controlled substance.
Officials say the felony charges stem from a police investigation when some of McGowan’s belongings tested positive for narcotics after they were left behind on a flight from Los Angeles to Washington Dulles Airport on January 20th.
Rose McGowan appeared in Loudoun County today to accept service for that warrant. Officials say she has been released on a $5,000 bond.
The actress was one of the women who came forward with rape allegations against Harvey Weinstein. Since then, McGowan has been an outspoken critic about sexual harassment in Hollywood. Recently, McGowan tweeted about the arrest warrant against her in Virginia, implying that it was a means to silence her.
