See who’s hiring seasonal workers in the DC area

WASHINGTON, D.C – The holidays are right around the corner and that means holiday shopping will be starting soon. In early October, the National Retail Federation reported that this holiday season will bring a 4 percent increase in spending.

 

To pay for all those upcoming presents, family dinners, and holiday clothes lots of people will be looking for extra work. Below is a list of companies that are currently hiring seasonal employees in the DC area.

 

Macy’s

Macy’s is planning on hiring around 80,000 seasonal employees for positions in their stores, Macy’s and Bloomingdale’s, as well as call centers, distribution centers, and online fulfillment centers.  Hiring events will be held in Bethesda, MD and Arlington, VA from October 26th to the 27th.  Those wishing to apply can click here.

Butler’s Orchard 

Located in Germantown, MD, the company is looking for cashiers, hosts, parking lot attendants, cooks, and more staffing positions to fill in during the busy holiday season. If you are interested, you can fill out an application here.

Target 
Target is hiring seasonal associates currently. They are looking for help in keeping stores tidy and helping to assist customers in their holiday shopping. Employees also get a 10 percent off benefit in stores and online. To apply, click here.

UPS
UPS is expecting to hire nearly 95,000  employees to drive and deliver packages during the busy season. Bonuses will also be available to those temporary employees who volunteer for night shifts. For more information and to apply, click here.

FedEx
FedEx is also planning to hire  thousands of temporary seasonal employees for their holiday rush. Jobs include package handlers, drivers and other support positions. If you are interested in applying you can click here

Amazon
Amazon.com Inc. says it will be hiring around 120,000 workers in the United States this holiday season to prepare for influx of holiday orders. The jobs will be available at more than 75 fulfillment centers across the U.S to help pack and ship orders. Amazon also said there is opportunity for these positions to turn into full-time jobs. Toys “R” Us
Toys “R” Us is still looking to hire seasonal employees for the 2017 holiday rush despite filling for bankruptcy in mid september. Interviews have already begun and will go on through Christmas. To apply, click here.
