D.C. Police investigate three deadly shootings in just over 24 hours

WASHINGTON, D.C. - Metropolitan Police are investigating three different shootings that left four people dead in just over a 24-hour period.

On Tuesday, at approximately 11:44 p.m., detectives were called to a shooting in the 5400 block of Hunt Place, Northeast.

When they arrived, police say they found a man, Arthur Thompkins III, 27, inside a car suffering from multiple gunshot wounds and he was pronounced dead.

Just a short time later, at approximately 11:58 p.m., detectives were called to the 6200 block of 8th Street, Northwest.

Officers found three men suffering from gunshot wounds.

Police say two of the victims, 22-year-old Sefjuan Jones, of Nashville, NC, and 25-year-old Renard Marsh, of Northwest, DC, died from their injuries.

On Thursday, around 1:23 a.m., police say they were called to another shooting in Northeast in the 200 block of 54th street.

Police found Donnell Lewis Byrd, 30, of Silver Spring, Md, with a gunshot wound. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
