Police release sketch of man wanted for abduction, sexual assault of Alexandria 5-year-old

ALEXANDRIA, Va. - Fairfax County Police say they are releasing a sketch of a man they believe is responsible for the abduction and sexual assault of a 5-year-old girl on Sunday.

According to police, the incident happened around 5:00 p.m. in the 6700 block of Tower Drive in the Fairfax County section of Alexandria.

The area has several apartment buildings and police say the incident happened in a common area.

Police say a family member initially noticed that the child was missing. She returned a short time later and told her family member what happened.

The suspect is described as a Hispanic male and detectives are working with witnesses to gather more information on the suspect.

Police say they will be canvassing the area, along 6700 Tower Drive, at 5 p.m. on Tuesday as part of their search for the man.
