Victim identified in fatal Alexandria crash

ALEXANDRIA,  Va. — Police have identified the victim in a fatal Saturday crash in Alexandria, the cause of which they say was DUI-related.

Around 3 a.m. on July 8, police responded to a single-vehicle crash on S. Henry St. They say that Simon Urbino-Vasquez, 27, was driving, and lost control of his vehicle while heading southbound.

Urbino-Vasquez had minor injuries and refused medical treatment. One of his passengers, a 24-year-old Fairfax County resident, was taken to the hospital with serious injuries. The other passenger, Jose Urbino-Vasquez, 24, of Silver Spring, died from his injuries at the scene.

Simon Urbino-Vasquez has been charged with DUI-related vehicular manslaughter and is being held without bond.
