Suspect injured in officer-involved shooting in D.C.

WASHINGTON, D.C. – One suspect was injured in an officer-involved shooting Wednesday night in Northwest, D.C.

According to the Metropolitan Police Department, an officer came across a suspect with a gun in the 700 block of Newton Place, Northwest around 10:20 p.m. Wednesday. Police say the officer fired several shots at the suspect, striking him at least once. The suspect, who officials say was an adult male, suffered non-life threatening injuries and was transported to a local hospital.

Officials say that one gun was recovered from the scene.
