CHARLES COUNTY, Md. — A former teacher’s aide at Benjamin Stoddert Middle School and track coach at La Plata High School who has been arrested for child sexual abuse and child pornography was a contestant on a short-lived reality show, according to a video on CBS’s official YouTube channel.

Carlos Deangelo Bell, 30, was arrested on charges of producing child pornography, child abuse and second-degree assault after the Charles County Sheriff’s Office received complaints from a parent.

“A student’s parent observed suspicious text messages on a child’s phone that were sexual in nature. Detectives were able to track the text messages back to Mr. Bell,” said Sheriff Troy Berry.

According to Sheriff Berry, at least seven male students were sexually assaulted, but there could be more victims. During Monday’s news conference, he said that just last week, investigators uncovered child pornography on Bell’s electronic devices.

Bell was a contestant on “The Job”, a one-season reality show that pitted contestants against each other in their efforts to win “a dream job at their dream company”. It was hosted by Lisa Ling, who now works at CNN.

The description on the video refers to Bell as “a freelance stylist from Washington, D.C.”
