PRINCE WILLIAM CO., VA — Police charged a 19-year-old with impersonating a police officer and eluding police.

Police say Tyson Rascher from Burke, Virginia, was arrested on June 23.

Detectives say on June 18, Rascher  was driving a stolen white 2016 pickup truck in the area of Prince William Parkway and Reids Prospect Drive in Woodbridge. At some point while he was driving, police say, Rascher turned on his blue emergency lights and pulled over a car.  During the traffic stop, police say, Rasched identified himself as an off-duty police officer and talked to the driver. Soon after an officer driving a marked cruiser pulled up to the traffic stop, that’s when police say Rascher got back on the truck and drove away; the officer tried following Rascher but only found the unoccupied stolen truck.  Police say they identified Rascher as they were investigating the crime.

Rascher is being held without bond.
