ASHBURN, Va. -- Sunday marked the final day of the first annual Youth Fitness Camp at the Redskins practice facility.
About 500 kids competed to take the top score in a combine challenge hosted by Redskins Legends like Gary Clark. On Sunday, Santana Moss helped hand out awards for the top finishers in each event.
The Loudoun County Sheriff's Office, Loudoun First Responders and Deputy Sheriff's Association helped organize the event.
Their goal was to provide a free opportunity to help boys and girls with the love for athletics.
"We just tried to include everybody," said Deputy First Class Aleksandra Kowalski. "Talking to the kids they love every aspect of it and the parents are telling me they love that it's here in the Redskins park-- they're loving the fact that it's an interaction between law enforcement and the community itself."
The LCSO also recognized the following sponsors for making the event possible: United, Gutterman Services, Inc., Dewberry, Potomac Falls Health & Rehab Center, BELFOR Property Restoration6, Bank of Clarke County, Great Gatherings, Falcon Heating & Air Conditioning Inc., Loudoun Credit Union, FOP Lodge #69, Chick-fil-A Dulles 28 and Waxpool Rd, Manhattan Pizza, 5.11 Tactical, 7 11, The Fitness Equation, the Zone, Hail&Hog Kitchen and Tap, DICK'S Sporting Goods, Starbucks, LuvnBerry, Crown Trophy of Ashburn and TMMG Inc.
