PRINCE GEORGE’S CO., MD —  Detectives charged four suspects in connection to several armed robberies in Prince George’s County.  Police say in a span of four weeks, the suspects targeted 10 separate 7-Elevens in Anne Arundel County, Montgomery County, and Prince George’s county.

Police say Prince George’s County patrol officers arrested the suspects in their last robbery on June 16 in the 6200 block of Suitland Road.  Officers say they recovered two handguns from the suspects.

Police say 19-year-old Kione Banks of Southwest DC, has only been charged with the robbery on Suitland Road. The other suspects,  26-year-old Tyrone Murphy of Southwest DC, 31-year-old Leighton Williams of Southwest DC, 27-year-old, Khiry Banks, of Southeast DC, have been charged in connection with all three other cases in Prince George’s County, according to police.

Police arrested four suspects they say are connected to several robberies in three different counties in Maryland. From left to right: Tyrone Murphy, Leighton Williams, Khiry Banks, Kione Banks.

During the investigation police found out that both both Kione and Khiry Banks are siblings.

Detectives were able to find the suspects after they say they linked a car to one of the suspects which led to the arrests of all four suspects Friday morning.

The FBI’s Baltimore Field Office is also involved in this joint investigation.

Murphy, Williams and Khiry Banks remain in custody of the Prince George’s County Department of Corrections.  Kione Banks has posted bond and is no longer in custody.
