WASHINGTON, D.C. -- Nine piece Latin fusion band Zakke jammed out at Gypsy Sally's in honor of Cinco de Mayo, a Mexican holiday that celebrates a hard-won battle against French forces.

Zakke formed in 2011. They say they blend Latin rhythms with explosive funk, ska, disco and rock beats. In 2015 they added several members, growing into the formidable nine-member band they are today. More info here.

Gypsy Sally’s describes itself as a venue for “serious music lovers who don’t take themselves too seriously”.  They have plenty of seating and a wide selection of beer, wine and liquor. Their website is here.
