Police find inmate who escaped from hospital

UPDATE: The Baltimore Sun reports that Timothy Powers was located and arrested Friday in Laurel, according to Howard County police.

COLUMBIA, Md. – The Howard County Police department is looking for an inmate they say walked away from Howard County General Hospital Thursday night.

According to officials, 52 -year-old Timothy David Powers, a minimum security Detention Center inmate, walked away from the hospital in the 5700 block of Cedar Lane around 8:00 p.m. on Thursday. He was at the hospital, receiving treatment.

Powers is described as a white male, around 5’9″¬†and weighing around 175 pounds. He was last seen wearing a burgundy sweater, jeans, and shoes. Police do not believe that Powers has access to car.

Officials say that officers have searched the area around the hospital, as well as past known addresses, for Powers. However, at this time, he has not been located. Police have issued a warrant for his arrest.

Police ask that anyone with information about Powers’ whereabouts should contact the police by calling 911.
