Police investigating officer-involved shooting in SE

WASHINGTON, DC — A suspect is in critical condition following an officer-involved shooting in Southeast, police said.

The shooting happened Wednesday shortly after 6 p.m., in the 4300 block of Barnaby Rd., SE.

According to the Chief of Police, Peter Newsham, officers were responding to a shooting, when they confronted an armed man in the hallway. Newsham says there was a struggle and at least one officer opened fire.

Police say the suspect remains in the hospital.
