Howard County Police arrest five men on prostitution charges

WASHINGTON, DC —  Howard County Police charged five Maryland men with solicitation of prostitution and disorderly conduct on Sunday.

In an ongoing effort to combat prostitution, human trafficking, Howard County police conducted a reverse prostitution operation.

Detectives placed fake ads on the website Backpage, a website known to be used for prostitution. The men who called the number in the fake ad spoke with an undercover female officer. The female officer set up a meeting location and times. Once the suspects arrived to a hotel in Columbia, Maryland, and offered the undercover officer money for sex, the suspects were arrested, police said.

Police arrested:

  • Henry Osae Ani, 36, of Beltsville
  • Jose Reynaldo Benitez-Cruz, 43, of Beltsville
  • Ceon Anthony December, 20, of Baltimore
  •  Xavier Alexander Lloyd, 24, of Ellicott City
  • Olaolowa Omotosho, 27, of Laurel
