Surveillance video: Dozens of guns stolen from Rockville firearm store

MONTGOMERY CO., MD -- Montgomery County Police and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives are joining forces to track down two suspects in a gun store robbery in Rockville.

Detectives released video showing the suspects breaking into the "United Gun Shop" on 5465 Randolph Road, Thursday at 3:50 a.m.. Surveillance video shows two suspects using crowbars to smash glass display cases and stuffing bags with handguns. During the 90 seconds that the suspects were in the store, you can see one of the suspects jumping over a display case and pulling long guns from the wall shelves. Soon after they left the store.

Detectives say when officers arrived the suspects had already fled in a light colored four-door sedan. But officers say they found the front door pried open and glass shattered everywhere from the display cases.

At this time, the ATF says the suspects stole about 24 handguns and seven long guns.  Detectives and ATF investigators are working with the store owner to determine the exact number and types of guns stolen.

The suspects were wearing dark clothing, gloves and had their faces covered during the burglary.

The Montgomery County Police Department, the ATF, and the trade association for the firearms industry, the National Shooting Sports Foundation (NSSF), have announced a combined reward of up to $10,000 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of those responsible for the theft of firearms from the United Gun Shop, a federal firearms licensee (FFL).
